Recology's proposed massive expansion/consolidation of Brisbane-SF facilities in process; City of Brisbane is preparing EIR document.
In April 2015, the City of Brisbane held a Scoping Hearing to discuss the proposed application by Recology that has more direct impacts on San Francisco residents than Brisbane. Amongst other things, Recology is seeking to decommission its Pier 96 Facility and 7th Street Facility operations to their Tunnel Avenue Facility, which overlaps the San Francisco/Brisbane border. The implications of this proposal are significant on the residents living in Little Hollywood, Visitacion Valley, Sunnydale and Bayshore Heights. Increased truck trips, increased odors, increased noise, etc are a few of the impacts those residents will be subject to. We will continue to monitor this project as it moves through the process.
